The so-called invisible screen doesn’t mean that the window screen is transparent or invisible, but the window screen can be hidden inside the frame through pushing or pulling. For example, meshes can be rolled up and placed in a canister. Invisible screens are normally installed next to window frames which are of similar functions of traditional window screens, but they are featured with the following advantages when compared.
First, invisible screens are aesthetically designed and of elaborate structure. The entire window screen is made of plain woven meshes coated with fiberglass, while the rest of materials adopts PVC installed separately, solving the problems of traditional window screens such as big gap between the window screen and the frame and loose sealing. The product is safe, good-looking and of excellent sealing performance.
Meanwhile, it is easy to store. Invisible screen can be rolled up or moved along the window. There is no need to disassemble it throughout the year, which is convenient to be stored and extends the service life. It is reported that the service life of invisible screen is 8 to 10 times longer than that of normal screen. It also saves more storage space, offers better daylighting conditions and easier to be stored.
In addition, invisible screen is applicable to a wide range. It can be directly installed in the frame, and optional for windows made of wood, steel, aluminum or plastic. Invisible screen is anti-corrosive, anti-aging, fireproofing, and no need for painting, making it non-toxic and odorless, and popular among customers.
It is known that invisible screen has been in the furniture market for quite some years. It is usually priced based on area, and products of different qualities are priced differently. Normally, it costs 50 – 100 yuan per square meter, which means that a normal size window screen will cost 100 – 200 yuan. In comparison with traditional window screens, the price of invisible screen is not exaggeratedly more expensive, and most people find it affordable. Therefore, it has become popular among families with its advantages in quality and price.
How to choose high quality and reasonably priced invisible screens? Listen to the experts:
Check the materials first. Invisible screens in the market nowadays are mainly made of aluminum alloy or PVC steel, the latter is mainly used in construction engineering, while the former is both used in engineering as well as interior design. The warranty of engineering screens is around 2 years, while the warranty for domestic screens tends to be longer. It is suggested to choose aluminum alloy.
Meanwhile, the meshes and frame of the window screen shall be taken into consideration as well. Fiberglass mesh of poor quality breaks after merely thousands of times of push & pull, while plastic mesh is easy to be expanded by heat and contracted by coldness, leading to higher probability of deformation. It is suggested to purchase premium chemical fiber mesh, which is capable of bearing tens of thousands of times of push & pull and friction without deformation. Do not choose window screens with excessive thin frames, because they might deform after five or six months of use once they are thinner than 1.0mm. For open window screens, they might work abnormally once dirt got inside. It is suggested to buy enclosed and silent window screens. Try to pull the product for a couple of times to see its rolling and resilience performance before purchase, and do not buy it if being too loose.
Keep an eye on colors too, to see if there is any color losing or falling. Remember to roll up the meshes before closing the window when raining; also remember to clean it regularly.
1. In case of wind or rain, remember to roll up the meshes before closing the window for exteriorly installed screens. In case that the meshes are blown out by the wind, please tuck the meshes into the track first before rolling up the screen. It is suggested to slightly close the window or do not use the screen when the wind is extremely fierce.
2. Please pull the mesh-holding strip horizontally along the track for fear of pulling it out of the track. Tilt the mesh-holding strip a little bit first, and tuck in the two ends of it into the track before gently pull it for a couple of times (Remember to see if the meshes are rolling horizontally). Then, the screen is opened and its performance remains unaffected.
3. In case that the surface of the frame is somehow worn, use Pledge to wipe it off or spray a little self-made paint.
4. Roll up the meshes when the screen is unused to ensure the service life and the cleanliness of the meshes once the screen is closed for a long time.
5. Do not stomp violently on the aluminum material.
6. There is no need to uninstall the screen for cleaning. It is cleaned when you pull it, or clean it with a feather duster by gently patting on the meshes. Once contaminated with kitchen fumes, use a web cloth and apply an appropriate amount of detergent on it to wipe it clean and roll it up after the meshes are dried.
